Who is Walter Cronkite?

CNN’s John King opened yesterday's Republican 'debate' with a question about the allegations made by Newt Gingrich’s ex-wife that he wanted an "open marriage" etc. To which Newt Gingrich replied, "I am appalled that you would begin a presidential debate with a topic like that..."

What appalls me is the media's panty-waisted non-response. John King's immediate rejoinder should have been something along the lines of...

"Quite frankly, Mr Gingrich, you appall me. That you believe your record as a human being has no bearing on your abilities to be President is beyond the pale. Your arrogant disdain for anyone not you lacks any sense of proportion, decency, and regard for your fellow humans."

But, no, the media prefers to scurry back to their tower, above the fray, and pretend Gingrich's insult never occurred. It did.
