A private investor for 20+ years, I manage private portfolios and write about investing. You can read my market musings on three different sites: 1) The Deipnosophist, dedicated to teaching the market's processes and mechanics; 2) Investment Poetry, a subscription site dedicated to real time investment recommendations; and 3) Seeking Alpha, a combination of the other two sites with a mix of reprints from this site and all-original content. See you here, there, or the other site!

My recent absence

Please accept my apologies for the comparative absence of blog posts. It turns out that I became extremely ill from a new medication, Vytorin; my liver went into shock, causing great pain thoughout my body. (Who knew the liver is so important?) After 1-2 days of mounting flu-like symptoms, I took a decided turn for the worse Sunday and Monday, all the while moaning and whining like the baby I am. Fortunately, no one within earshot had to endure my sniveling! ;-) Despite the pain (and whining and moaning), I finished the wonderful novel, THE JANE AUSTEN BOOK CLUB, of which I hope to include soon a brief review.

I am back now, albeit not at full strength. I did make one post already (see below), and have made several responses in the comments area of this blog. Please check them out. I hope to catch up with your many email messages soon. In addition, I have corrected the Amazon links (see sidebar) to the recommended titles; finally, I can receive credit for your purchases. Thank you for your patience.
